We are very excited to announce that we will be reopening your Children’s Museum of Illinois Soon!
Thanks to updated language in the recently revised Restore Illinois phasing guidelines, we will immediately begin readying the museum for in-person play. There is no firm date set for the reopening; we have been closed just under a year so there is quite a bit of work to be done with regards to exhibits, the hiring and training of staff, etc.
Here is what we can share with you at the moment:
- The guidelines in place mean things may be little different when you visit but the core experience of PLAY will be the same.
- Memberships will be unpaused once we reopen. You will have the same amount of time left on your membership as when we closed on March 15th, 2020.
- Yes, everyone 2 and over will be required to wear a proper mask over the nose and mouth.
- More than likely we will have timed ticketing and limited guests. Admission for guests and members will need to be reserved.
What are we doing to keep you safe?
- Timed ticketing for a limited number of guests at one time
- Updates to our cleaning procedures
- Some exhibits will be closed and some toys will not be available to play with
- Closed between sessions to deep clean the facility
- All employees, volunteers, and guests are screened upon entry to the museum
As soon as we have a solid date set we will let you know. Your patience while we plan and prepare is appreciated! We can’t wait to welcome you back into the museum in a fun and safe way. See you real soon!
