Children’s Museum of Illinois joined 10+ museums in Illinois and Indiana to continue its annual tradition of a Noon Year’s Eve celebration with a digital countdown to 2021!
This free online event was originally broadcast at 11:30am on December 31st, 2020. It was viewed by over 3,500 families across Illinois and Indiana.
Hosted by CMofIL’s Jayson “Jay” Albright, the program features The Awesome Squad performing a mix of pop hits and toe-tapping originals designed to get families up on their feet and dancing before the official countdown to noon.
Additionally, CMofIL made Happy Noon Year activity kits available to help children get the most out of the experience. The kits featured:

- New Year Resolution Activity
Along with CMofIL, participating museums include: Children’s Discovery Museum (Normal, IL), Kidzeum (Springfield,IL), Terre Haute Children’s Museum, Imagination Station (LaFayette, IN), Muncie Children’s Museum, Children’s Museum in Oak Lawn, Discovery Center Museum (Rockford, IL), Peoria Playhouse, Wonder Works (Oak Park, IL), and Koch Family Children’s Museum of Evansville.
Albright also served as the program’s producer/director. The Town of Normal’s IT department oversaw the live streaming. It was produced with the cooperation of the participating museums, along with sponsors Commerce Bank/Commerce Trust Company, ISU Credit Union, and Swedish American.
