Yeah, we’re even here to help with math skills. Break out the tape measurer and let’s start hunting!

For this activity you will need the following items:

• Measuring Tape or a Ruler
• A pencil/pen/marker/crayon
• A print off of this document Measuring Scavenger Hunt Sheet

Now here’s what you do:

1. If your child is not familiar with measuring tape or a ruler, talk about it. 
   1. Not sure how? Here’s a video of Sid The Science Kid
   2. Also, measuring tape is WAY more fun than a ruler… you know it is. 
2. Search your house for the items below. 
3. Measure the items and write down how many inches long it is.
4. When you are done, talk about what objects were bigger or smaller. 

For some added fun, create your own sheet with new objects. Have your child guess how long an object is before he or she measures it.
